Composer and field recordist Chad Crouch uses the term Soundwalk to describe works created from his continuous (~40 min.) high quality binaural field recordings made while walking in sound-rich environments, which are then sparsely scored with piano, woodwinds, strings, tuned percussion and synthesizer. The effect is immersive, atmospheric, and intimate. Crouch has produced a new and riveting listening experience; part classical, part ambient, part nature sounds, part meditation, all his own. Here we find Crouch taking a walk on a rainy morning of March 2 2022 up the rim of a Balch Creek Canyon on the Holman Lane trail in Portland Oregon's Forest Park.
