What is a soundwalk? It’s a binaural recording made while walking through a sound-rich environment, set to an original instrumental score. The seamless song sequence transports the listener, taking them on an intimate and emotional audio journey, reconnecting with nature, enabling a recalibration of attention and focus. The natural soundscape is immersive, often hallucinatory. The compositions are spacious, melodic and uncomplicated, built up with piano, woodwinds, strings, guitar, tuned percussion and warm synthesizer. Portland, Oregon composer/recordist Chad Crouch has seized upon something original and essential with the soundwalk format.

Anhinga Trail Soundwalk transports the listener to Everglades National Park in Florida, a sawgrass marsh brimming with wildlife. Hear the lively chorus of alligators, turtles, anhingas, herons, egrets, and many other birds as the sun rises over Royal Palm.
